Applications for 2024 will start being accepted in January of 2024 and be awarded by August 4th 2024.

Each Year A Scholarship Will Be Awarded from Pony 4 Precious in the Name of Molly Pearson Anderson

Pony 4 Precious is proud to announce that each year a scholarship will be awarded in the name of Molly Pearson Anderson to one deserving student who meets the specified criteria. The scholarship will be awarded to the worthiest candidate from all applications submitted. If you want to apply for this scholarship, all you need to do is fill out the application and submit a written essay and letters of recommendation as part of the application process. The board of directors of Pony 4 Precious will review all applications, and they will decide each year the final scholarship winner.

Molly Pearson Anderson was an accomplished racehorse trainer, who spent nearly 40 years in the industry, winning over 900 races and earning more than $11 million in purse earnings. She was born on Jan. 1, 1965, in Williams, Arizona, and spent many wonderful days of her childhood in Williams riding her horse with her sister Leslie and cousins in the woods near her home at the Bar Diamond Ranch. At the age of 8, her family moved to Chino Valley, Arizona, where she continued to ride, show, and train horses. Molly had a great love of working with young horses and decided to make a career out of her passion. She went on to become a professional racehorse trainer. In her teens, Molly started working in the racehorse industry, she apprenticed with Quarter Horse trainer John Bassett and then later with Thoroughbred racehorse trainer Bob Baffert.

Eligibility Criteria for the Scholarship

The criteria for award eligibility are as follows:

Involvement in the Horse Racing or Cowboy Mounted Shooting Community

The applicants or their families must be involved in the horse racing or Cowboy Mounted Shooting community. We believe that by offering this scholarship to those who are actively involved in the horse racing or Cowboy Mounted Shooting community, we are giving back to the community that has given us so much.

Minimum GPA of 3.0

The applicants must have maintained a minimum GPA of 3.0 in their most recent year of study. We believe that academic excellence is essential for personal and professional growth. Therefore, we want to encourage and reward students who have demonstrated academic excellence.

Current Enrollment or Acceptance in a College or University

The applicants must currently attend or will attend a college (university, vocational school, or certificate program) within six months of the application date. We believe that education is the key to success. Therefore, we want to support and encourage students who are committed to pursuing their education. All applications must be turned in by July 4th, 2024. The scholarship winner will receive a check in their name sent directly to the university. No check will be sent directly to the person name. If you do not attended program they scholarship will not be awarded.

Application Process

To apply for the scholarship, you need to fill out the application and email a written essay and letters of recommendation as part of the application process. The board of directors of Pony 4 Precious will review all applications, and they will decide each year the final scholarship winner. The scholarship will be paid directly to the school they are attending in the student’s name.

We believe that the scholarship we offer in the name of Molly Pearson Anderson is a great way to give back to the horse racing and Cowboy Mounted Shooting community. We want to support and encourage students who are committed to pursuing their education and have demonstrated academic excellence. We hope that this scholarship will help the recipients achieve their academic goals and pursue their passions.
